As 2010 is the twentieth year of operation for the Southern Highlands Bereavement Care Service we are hoping to celebrate this important milestone with an event during "Grief Week" in August. 

Everyone likes a party, so the "20th Year Celebration" will be held on Friday 27th August in the Henrietta Rose Room in Bowral. This will be an opportunity for everyone who has played a role in the establishment of the Service to attend and be recognised for the wonderful work they have done.

It is hoped that some of the original members of the founding Management Committee and perhaps original counselling staff might be available to attend.  They will be able to tell us something of their vision for the Service back in 1990 as well as some of the obstacles that they had to surmount in order to establish the Service from nothing.  It will be an opportunity to reflect on the work that the Service has been engaged in over the past  20 years as well as to note how the Service has changed to meet the changing world and the changing needs of  its clients.

There will be an oportunity too for clients who have used the Service since its inception to come along a share with us where their "journey" through grief has taken them.

Anyone wishing to attend is welcome to make contact with us and let us know so that we can organise catering.  A very special "spread" of nibblies and canopes will be available as well as glass or two of local Southern Highlands Wines.
